be celebrating the feast of St Blaise.

 

St. Blaise is the patron saint of people with diseases of the throat and on his feast day, people may receive a blessing to the throat. 

 

“Through the intercession of Saint Blaise, bishop and martyr, may God deliver you from every disease of the throat and from every other illness. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”

 

St. Blaise reminds us of the importance of taking care of our health and so, especially at this time, we pray for  the hard work of doctors and nurses, and for the medicines that are developed to help us to recover from illnesses. We honor St. Blaise for his faith and care for his people.
