Diocesan Pilgrimage to Walsingham

Saturday 23rd May 2026

On Saturday 3rd May, Bishop Alan will lead parishioners from around the Diocese of Brentwood on pilgrimage to honour Our Lady of Walsingham.

It is a wonderful day of prayer and devotion, beginning with Mass celebrated at the Basilica of Our Lady of Walsingham. We then enjoy a picnic lunch together in the grounds before walking the Holy Mile to the grounds of Walsingham Abbey to celebrate Vespers and Benediction on the site of the Holy House.

This year, we are delighted to be bringing a group of young people (over 18) from the BCYS, who will be assisting with various roles throughout the day.

There may be opportunities for readers and altar servers during the Mass, walk, Vespers and Benediction,  as well as carrying the statue of our Lady as we walk the Holy Mile, or ushering and marshalling where needed.

If you require transport to and from Walsingham, or for more information please email [email protected].
For all others who wish to attend, as individuals or as a parish group, you can email [email protected].
