We launched our fundraising appeal on the Feast of Our Lady of Walsingham – 24th September with appeals at Masses across the Diocese and we commend our work to the intercession of Our Lady.

Redevelopment & Fundraising

Abbotswick is an ideal retreat space, where we will welcome young people for generations to come. We will continue to welcome individuals and parish groups to enjoy this beautiful house. We are refurbishing all of the facilities, to include:

  • PRAYER: A standalone chapel, beautifully integrated with the natural surroundings
  • CAPACITY: Ensuite bedrooms for 34 young people, with additional leader rooms and a disabled access bedroom
  • THE GROUNDS: 14 acres of grounds in a peaceful and stunning location to inspire reflection and prayer
  • RETREAT SPACE: Refurbishment of group rooms and dining space for up to 40

Your generous donations will help us to purchase:

  • New window restrictor, for safety on the upper floors – £20
  • New brass curtain rail – £30
  • Fully overhaul, repair and repaint a sash window – £280
  • A new bunkbed, to university standard – £450
  • Carpet for discussion room for small groups – £1,275
  • Chapel flooring as part of newly constructed chapel – £1,575
  • Cost to fully create/refurbish an en-suite bathroom – £2,250
  • Cost to full refurbish a bedroom – £2,500

Thank you for any help and support that you can give. Every penny will make a difference for young people on retreat, as well as individuals and parish groups who will continue to enjoy the wonderful facilities at Abbotswick
