Would you like to spend a week with about 4,000 young adults from across the world? Join the brothers of the Taizé community for prayer? Explore your faith together in groups? Make new friends and have a really good time?
Taizé is an international, ecumenical community founded in 1940 by Brother Roger... Today the community is made up of over 100 brothers from Catholic and various Protestant backgrounds.
At the heart of daily life in Taizé are three times of prayer together. Since the late 1950s, thousands of young adults from many countries have found their way to Taizé.
Life in Taizé is very simple and the food and facilities are basic. Most people bring their own tents: otherwise they share large communal tents.
Faith and fun come together brilliantly in Taizé, and there is a wonderful sense of people from every nation enjoying each other's company and being united in prayer. The heart of Taizé is the Church of Reconciliation, but life flows naturally from there to the food queues or the 'Oyak' the centre of social life, especially in the evenings.
Pope John XXIII described Taizé as "that little springtime" and Pope John Paul II and Mother Teresa both visited the community."
