P&O Ferry Porstmouth to Bilbao, arriving Thursday 11th August. Cabin accommodation in 2 or 4 berth cabins. Programme of events and activities on board, including some fine whale and dolphin watching possibilities!
Thursday
August 11th

August 15th
Staying with Spanish host families in their Diocese, with a programme of events that they put on for us.

We have not yet finalised which Diocese we will stay in – more news soon.
Monday
August 15th
Settle into Madrid, with the WYD Opening Ceremony and Mass on the afternoon of Tuesday 16th.
Wednesday
August 17th

August 19th
World Youth Day Programme, with a talk by a Bishop or Cardinal each morning, a chance to meet and socialise with other English speaking groups, and Mass and lunch together. In the afternoon a massive selection of activities – drama and dance shows, talks, cultural experiences in Madrid, etc. In the evening, usually a WYD activity and then more time for the optional WYD events programme.
Saturday
August 20th
Travel to the venue for the WYD Vigil and Final Mass – this usually involves walking with many thousands of others along a pilgrim route: a blaze of song and colour!
Sunday
August 21st
WYD Final Mass with the Pope, and return to the hotel in Madrid.
Monday
August 22nd
Early start for Bilbao, and ferry with celebration dinner on board, returning to Portsmouth Tuesday 23rd and from there by coach to Brentwood.
