In 2011 Brentwood Catholic Youth Service will be leading a group of young people
on pilgrimage to Madrid for the 26th World Youth Day.
As you may know the BCYS have now run two trips to World Youth Days – Cologne 2005
and Sydney 2008. Both trips were real highlights for those who participated, and
with World Youth Day back in Europe in 2011 we are hoping for a large group from
Brentwood.
Some arrangements have already been made, and other details are being worked out
at the time of preparing this information (Autumn 2009).
The Madrid World Youth Day trip will be from 9th – 23rd August 2011, and is open
to anyone who will be at the end of school year 12 or above when we travel. It is
a trip for young people and young adults, and we are open to taking around 150 -
200 young people from across the Diocese.
The cost of the trip is estimated to be £895 including travel, accomodation, insurance
and World Youth Day registration. We know World Youth Day can seem expensive but the price is for two weeks away and World Youth Day registration itself is about £200. In addition to the above, the price also includes most meals. We have done our bests to keep costs as low as we can: if we get any corporate sponsorship that will also help us – if you work for or have connections with a company who could sponsor us please get in touch.
Please get your application in as soon as you can as places are
limited and will go quickly!
