Jack Petchey Foundation

The Jack Petchey Foundation offers grants for youth organisations, primarily through achievement awards to young people from within an organisation recognised by JPF. However, in 2009 the JPF is only accepting applications from schools. It is worth keeping an eye on their website in 2010 as they are a great help to many Youth Clubs.

Catenians

Click on the tab, “Helping Others” and then “Bursary Fund.” The Catenians will help young people individually, and this includes some help to travel to Lourdes, with grants of around £60. There are quite strict application criteria and deadlines.

This does seem very thin at the moment: if anyone is aware of other grant making bodies that can support young people, please do let us know. The BCYS would also warmly welcome a legacy donation or commercial sponsorship to be able to offer a more significant bursary fund for young people.
