The Vatican site offers full online versions of all Papal encyclicals and homilies,
and many Church documents, with the opportunity for keyword searches. For ease of
reference, the BCYS site does have a selection of
abridged versions of Papal Messages to Young People, from World Youth Days
and at other times
A quick and easy way to cut and paste quotes from the Catechism into resources you
are preparing for young people.
REJesus is a site offering excellent information, insights and teaching about Jesus’
life and the lives of those who follow him – both contemporary and historical figures,
complemented by sections on current issues, and on ways to pray. It is an Ecumenical
initiative with strong Catholic support and very good content.
American Catholic site using the latest technology to communicate different aspects
of faith. Some webcasts focus on prayer; some are answers to questions about Church
teaching. Generally good quality, and backed by the Paulist Fathers, who specialise
in media.
The Catholic Agency for the Support of Evangelisation offers lots of ideas and resources
to help deepen understanding of Catholic Teaching, Scripture and ways to pray. This
site also has a number of helpful links.
Very few free resources here – but lots of paper based, DVD and CD-Rom resources
for sale. Very comprehensive selection.
Youth Café is a six part DVD programme with a mix of teenage and adult testimony,
including teaching from Priests such as Fr Stan Fortuna, plus an accompanying guide
for leaders. It has a wide appeal, and can be used in whole or in part. The "Café"
series also includes other resources which can be very helpful in explaining questions
of faith to young people – watch "Amazing
Gift" - Fr Stan’s introduction to the Mass.
